expectations

wrestling Experience

We expect coaches to have a minimum of four years wrestling experience as either a coach, an athlete or both. College wrestling experience is preferred.

VALUES-BASED approach

We expect all of our adult leaders to embrace and teach our core “A.G.G.I.E." values: Accountability, Gratitude, Grit, Integrity, & Excellence.

Growth Mindset

Life Champions exhibit a growth mindset; we naturally expect this of our coaches as well. We seek phenomenal coaches who are also coachable team players.

USAW Leaders Certification

All coaches must have a USAW membership card, which requires successful completion of Safesport Training as well as passing a background check. Some coaches may require additional certification, such as the USAW Copper or Bronze certification or an additional background check to coach at Chicago Public Schools.

experience with youth

Coaches should have some experience working with young people, either youth (ages 5 through 12) or high school (13 - 18).

schedule availability

Most fall-through-spring practices are held weekdays at or around 6pm. Coaches must commit to being at practice throughout the season and be willing to attend some weekend tournaments, clinics or special events.
